Do you believe in me?

1. Is he a good speaker? Why/why not?
I thought he was a very good speaker. He wasn't monotone and he used expression.

2. What were his good characteristics as a speaker? His bad?
Some good characteristics were that he walked around, used hand gestures, he had good expression in his voice and he was brave to get up in front of 20,000 people. I really can't think of any bad characteristics that he had.

3. How did he use his voice (vocal inflection) to make his speech more effective?
He emphasized words and used questions throughout his speech.

4. How did he use gestures to make his speech more effective?

He would point to the crowd to get them involved and when he was talking about himself he used gestures towards him.

5. Why do you think they selected him as their keynote speaker? (Keynote speakers are the main speakers of a meeting, convention, etc.)

They probably chose him because they knew he wouldn't be afraid to get up in front of that many people. Also they probably wanted a younger student to get the point across better and more effective.

6. What was the main point of his message? Was it an important message? Why/why not?
The main message was that people can be whoever and whatever they want to be as long as you and others believe that you can. It is important to have people believe in others because that gives them more confidence to achieve more.

7. Do you think the teachers believed his message? Did it inspire them? Why/why not?

I think that if the teachers did not believe this message than they do now. I do believe that the speech inspired them or I'd like to think it inspired them. Reason because is that if teachers do not believe in their students then how are the students going to have the desire to learn.

In 100-150 words, respond to the following:
What did you think of his message? If you were a teacher, would it have inspired you? Do not repeat any information that you used in the seven questions above.

I think that this speech was a very good and effective message to all teachers, student, parents, etc. It helped people understand that to believe in others you must believe in yourself first and for you to believe in yourself others must believe in you too. I liked this speech a lot. Throughout the speech he gave credit to not only the teachers but also the principals, janitors, lunch ladies, and more. I think that it did inspire teachers to believe in their students to help better them and help them achieve more.
